Substance is one of the most hyped roasters we've worked with. Joachim is hugely influential in the ultralight coffee scene and has inspired a wide range of coffee roasters. He doesn't really do wholesale, so we are very happy to be working with him and showcasing his coffee

Roast Profile:

This is a classic ultralight profile. Kind of right in the middle in terms of development in the UL range. Minmax was very inspired by him, so I'd say that that's a solid comparison for roast.

Why Did We Bring This Coffee On?

This is a more savory Kenyan, which some people don't like, but it's still a really nice coffee. It's also from my favorite region of Kenya: Embu! I think it's their easiest coffee to brew and I've enjoyed quite a few bags of it

What does “presale” mean?

Our weekly releases are sold before the coffee arrives in the U.S. This allows us to source rare international roasters that don’t normally export here. They are roasted to order and we provide an ETA for each release through our newsletter.
