Frequently asked questions
What does "presale" mean?
Our weekly releases are sold before the coffee arrives in the U.S. This allows us to source rare international roasters that don't normally export here. They are roasted to order and we provide an ETA for each release through our newsletter.
What is a weekly release?
It’s a one off feature with a specific roaster. Weekly releases are separate from the subscription. This way you can try coffee from us without subscribing! We also offer some high end and ultra rare lots through this that we wouldn’t be able to feature on our subscriptions.
Why do you use a presale system?
It allows us to bring in extremely limited coffees from small roasters abroad while keeping pricing fair and ensures nothing sits on shelves.
Are you a coffee roaster?
No, we’re a coffee curator. We source rare, light roasted coffees from micro roasters around the world and bring them to the U.S. so you can try coffees you’d normally need a plane ticket to experience.
What’s the difference between the subscription and weekly releases?
The subscription is a once per-month curated box featuring exclusive coffees. Weekly releases are individual coffees available if you want to purchase additional bags without subscribing. Weekly releases are sold as presales and ship out on arrival.
When will my order ship?
Shipping timelines vary by roaster and international transit. We send weekly email updates so you always know where your coffee is in the process. Make sure to sign up for our newsletter.
Can I change or cancel my subscription?
Yes, you can skip, change, or cancel anytime before the monthly billing date on the 20th. No contracts, no pressure.
Do you repeat coffees or roasters?
Occasionally. Our goal is discovery. We work with new and lesser known international roasters and constantly rotate offerings, so there’s always something new to explore.
How fresh is the coffee when it arrives?
All coffees are roasted shortly before shipping from the roaster. Because we import directly, arrival times vary slightly. These are light roasted coffees, so we recommend letting these rest for anywhere from 4 - 10wks before drinking for optimal flavor. Unlike dark roasted coffee, if you drink too soon, the coffee may taste flat and not have all the same nuances it will once it has opened up after waiting.
Do you repackage the coffees?
Sometimes. Whenever possible, we ship coffees in the original roaster’s packaging. However, some roasters send us coffee in bulk bags, so we carefully repackage those into our own 15g, 30g, or 50g Taster Sets (Dime Bags) and 100g retail bags. No matter the format, the coffee is handled with care.
