Airworks is a Seattle-based coffee subscription curating light roast coffees from the most exciting roasters around the world
Each month, we showcase coffees you’d normally need a plane ticket to experience. Every release is personally selected and cupped by Jacob, who works directly with international roasters to bring their most expressive coffees to our subscribers.
How it started
Our story began on a coffee farm in Hawaii
Airworks began long before it had a name. Jacob’s introduction to coffee started on a small farm in Hawaii, where he experienced firsthand the care, labor, and precision behind every cup. That time on origin planted a deep respect for producers and sparked a curiosity that would eventually grow into something much bigger.
Living in Australia and traveling the world opened up a world of new coffee flavors for Jacob
Later, living in Australia, and traveling across Europe and Asia, opened Jacob’s eyes to an entirely different coffee culture. He discovered light roasting, experimental processing, and small international roasters pushing flavor boundaries. It became clear that some of the most exciting coffees in the world were nearly impossible to access outside their home countries. There was an entirely different coffee scene outside the States that Jacob wanted to emulate here.
In 2021, Jacob and his family moved to Seattle
When the family relocated to Seattle in 2021, that curiosity turned into action. Surrounded by a coffee scene rooted in history, but lacking in the kind of coffees he had gotten interested in, Jacob began importing small batches of coffee for himself and quickly realized others wanted to taste them too.
He started ordering and sharing coffee from abroad with friends and family
What started as sharing rare bags with friends and local baristas grew into a small community of people excited by discovery driven coffee. Each shipment felt like a tiny world tour, a chance to explore new roasters, origins, and processing styles together.
Airworks in born, with a unique mission to bring the world’s coffee straight to your door
Airworks Coffee was officially born in 2024 with a simple mission: source hard to find, light roasted coffees from exceptional international roasters and make them accessible in the U.S. Through subscriptions, weekly releases, and community tasting events, we invite coffee lovers to take part in an ongoing global coffee adventure, no plane ticket required.
