About Us

Hey!

My name's Jacob, and I'm who's behind Airworks Coffee. This is a mostly (okay, my wife helps with larger fulfillments and advice on social media and my kids will help put stickers on die bags from time to time haha) one person operation that started as a passion project in 2023. I got my start in coffee in 2016 when I started working on a coffee farm in Hawaii with my wife. I had only had coffee a few times before and was more interested in farming and tea than coffee at the time. I got into it because of how difficult of a plant it was to work with. I had a lot of respect for coffee farmers after that and started to drink coffee occasionally. I moved to Australia to study  and fell in love with specialty coffee there. Soon after, I took up teaching English (mostly as an excuse to travel), and traveled around Europe and Asia with my wife and kids. I tried lots of great coffee from roasters that most people in the US hadn't tried before. I moved back during the Pandemic and ended up in Seattle. I worked as a barista here, but was unhappy with the coffee scene here. So I bought coffee from overseas and would share it with locals baristas and roasters. That was really the start for Airworks (which was named after a J Dilla song for anyone interested!). I've really leaned into unique roasters and focus my sourcing on international roasters that rarely (or never) ship to the US. I want to showcase great roasters that you won't have the opportunity to try without a plane ticket! Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you enjoy your coffee :)
