Our subscription focuses on exploration. We highlight lesser known international roasted and bring coffee to you which you would normally not be able to try without a plane ticket. All roasters we source from are "light roasted", but that exists on a spectrum. While we tend to focus on the lighter end of the spectrum, this ends up being from medium-light (ie Coffee County or John Small) to ultralight (XLIII or Exposure Therapy). We focus on 1 roaster at a time to give you a chance to really evaluate each roaster. For this option, that will include 1 washed coffee, 1 fun coffee and 1 funky coffee.

Each box will contain 3 coffee profiles:

Clean: The cleanest representation of terroir showcasing the best seasonal coffee. (Process level: 0/5 - 1/5)
Fun: A wild card of sorts, where you can find anything from high quality naturals and less funky fermentation processes to unique varietals, like Sudan Rume or Chiroso (Process level: 1/5 - 3/5)
Funk: Truly unique and adventurous flavor profiles. High quality anaerobic and other advanced fermentation processes that push the boundaries of flavor exploration. We still prefer cleaner funk here at airworks, so this often skews to less boozy processed coffee (Process Level: 3/5-5/5)

When do subscriptions ship out?

Subscriptions ship once per month. Billing happens on the 20th, and boxes ship around the 5th of the following month. Shipping timelines vary by roaster and international transit. We send weekly email updates so you always know where your coffee is in the process.

How much coffee comes in a subscription?

We have three sizes to choose from: 100g, 200g, and 300g. When you get your coffee you will get three of your size selected (ex. 3 -100g bags).

For single bag subscriptions, we only offer one size: 200g.

What kind of coffees are in the subscription?

For our OG and single bag subscriptions, expect a rotating mix of ultra clean washed coffees, expressive naturals and honeys, and a funky or experimental lot, all light roasted and carefully curated.

Our washed subscription only features washed coffees.

Our ultralight subscription exclusively features ultralight roasts.

Can I skip or cancel anytime?

Yes. You can skip a month or cancel anytime before the 20th billing date.

Great ways to try different roasters worldwide

This recent trio of beans from Walnut are in my top 3 of the last 12 months. Fantastically easy to pull flavor with a V60. Delicious from the hottest temp to iced. Incredibly juicy fruit notes! And a serious bargain to purchase through the subscription vs ordering direct from the roaster in Tokyo.

If you are a true coffee nerd and you want exposure to lots of great coffee from around the world this is a great way to get it.

There was one coffee that my wife and I loved from the pack of 4 bags. The other 3 bags were mediocre unfortunately.

First bag I pulled out was Benjamin Paz...I knew it was going to be good. I was wrong...the first box I received was exceptional!

Almost through my first month's OG sub and very impressed with the 3 selections. I love the flavors of all 3 beans i got and looking forward to next months shipment. It's nice being able to try roasters that i haven't been able to try or even heard of.

The coffee included was great! Cant wait to get more to tryout

Wonderful coffees and varieties. Great customer service as well. My questions were answered quickly and thoroughly.

First of all, I love what Airworks is doing. For where i'm at in my coffee journey right now, the opportunity to try curated and intentional products - all the way up the chain from farmer to roaster to Airworks - at the current price point is second to none. The only ding is that my box had to include a coffee substitution (double Anamorphic instead of Monastery). I reached out to Jacob and he explained the situation - there were so many new subscribes (like myself) that they were forced to call an audible on some of the packages. As I noted in my response email: this is a great problem to have. The only feedback I would give, for the purpose of this review, is that I wish you all could have gotten ahead on the communication and let subscribers know in advance. It's a small piece of feedback amidst many points of success and satisfaction. Looking forward to next month (please don't substitute the Arrows offering!)

Best selection and rotation of roasters in the game.

The subscription is good. However, it is extremely confusing what orders I actually have received versus what I'm waiting on. Since everything is so backlogged, when I receive an order, I have no clue what month that order is against. A packing slip in the box, or a note, would be helpful to provide context/info on the order.

Communicating via long-form emails is somewhat helpful, but it also adds to the confusion. And it's too much info to read and filter through. I really only care about my orders, not the status on every single coffee.

I became a big coffee and espresso enthusiast after trying some really special coffee in Scotland at The Source Coffee Roasters. Once I returned I found it difficult to source specialty coffee that really met the mark but Jacob and the AirWorks coffee team has made that easy! They’re always bringing interesting and excellent coffees from small roasters from around the world, even The Source! I recommend them to everyone with an interest in specialty coffee.
