Scenery is my favorite UK roaster. I really love their roast profile and sourcing. They bring out some very unique characteristics from each coffee they bring on and source some really interesting lots. Always a treat to have them on deck!

Roast Profile: Between light and ultralight. Not roasty, but does better when it's pushed a bit less. They roast on a Loring and really highlight fruit notes and sweetness in a unique way. I recommend checking out their roast guide. It's more or less how I brew their coffee. More so than other roasters, I've found that their coffees need a long bloom and less agitation overall to bring out the best of their coffee

Why did we bring this coffee on?

Check out all of the unique offerings in this release below! There’s some really fun stuff here :)

Mexico SIPRO Dry Ferment Washed Caturra/Mundo Novo 200g

Amatenango de la Frontera sits right across from Huehuetenango, one of our favorite regions in Central America, sharing the same highland conditions. SIPRO (Sierra Productora de Cafe) formed when nine young producers decided to bypass local commodity buyers and work directly with specialty importers. Real classic Central American comfort flavors.

Tasting Notes: Milk Chocolate, Dried Fruits, Butterscotch

Rwanda Dahwe Station Washed Red Bourbon 200g

This year's early Rwandan harvest has seen this year's lots land exceptionally early (an almost unheard of august arrival!). We've made all haste to get it onto the offer in order to provide some contrast to a heavy Kenyan and Ethiopian season, as you almost never get the opportunity to have Rwanda on at the same time and still be in season. Really classic, straight down the middle Rwandan fully-washed profile.

Tasting Notes: Tangerine, Cox Pippin Apple, Lady Grey

Kenya Kaguyu AA Washed

Our second season buying from Kaguyu, following an AB lot in the 23/24 season. We think this year's AA is a stunner - real classic Kenya character, especially on the blackcurrant/tomato axis.

Tasting Notes: Raspberry, Blackberry, Hibiscus

Ethiopia Adamo Natural 200g

On the way out, Ture gave us these samples from his export business focusing nearly entirely on the highest altitude production in Uraga and Haro Wolabu. It wasn't until we got back to London to try them that we realised there was some serious, serious heat involved - possibly one of our favourite traditional Ethiopian naturals to date.

Tasting Notes: Strawberry, Bergamot, Wildly Floral

Ethiopia Weesi Teema Anoxic Yellow Honey 200g

On this table was a set of yellow honey lots - the only difference between them being the number of hours on the sample name. This lot ("48 hrs") had such an electric and compelling acidity that we were smitten - supremely zippy and fresh, we made a request to Osito to bring it in. Essentially a small B2B direct as this was only for us.

Tasting Notes: Meyer Lemon, Granny Smith, Milk Oolong

Costa Rica Roble Negro Washed Catuai Espresso 200g

Traditional washed Catuai from Costa Rica: If you judge this book purely on its cover, you will be sorely missing just how nice this coffee is. Roble Negro is an incredibly ecologically minded farm, growing the majority of their coffee under shade (so they are often late to harvest with longer ripening) and with native forest reserves.

Tasting Notes: Morello Cherry, Apple Pie, Caramel

Interval Espresso 1kg

We’ve always had the plan to release one final core coffee, completing the set from Lightest, Light, Medium and now, finally, Heavy. This espresso is profiled entirely with classic & easy styles of brewing in mind (and especially for those that like milk in their coffee).

Tasting Notes: Dark Chocolate, Hazelnut Brittle, Syrupy

—-

Facility Blend Espresso 1kg

Roasted to produce a solid “house espresso”, with distinct chocolate and darker fruit notes, an all-rounder suitable for milk, alt-milk and black coffees. Coffees seasonally sourced to ensure consistent core flavours year round.

Tasting Notes: Milk Chocolate, Dark Fruits, Sweet

What is a weekly release?

It’s a one off feature with a specific roaster. Weekly releases are separate from the subscription. This way you can try coffee from us without subscribing! We also offer some high end and ultra rare lots through this that we wouldn’t be able to feature on our subscriptions.

Do I need to subscribe to purchase the weekly release?

Nope! Weekly releases can be purchased as standalone coffees, no subscription required.

When will my weekly release order ship?

Shipping timelines vary by roaster and international transit. We send weekly email updates so you always know where your coffee is in the process. Make sure to sign up for our newsletter.

What does “presale” mean?

Our weekly releases are sold before the coffee arrives in the U.S. This allows us to source rare international roasters that don’t normally export here. They are roasted to order and we provide an ETA for each release through our newsletter.
