Puman has been on our radar for a bit now. Their sales rep reached out last year, but we tariff issues at the time were making samples from China difficult. We finally made it happen, and I was pretty impressed by the coffees. I tried a wide range of their offerings, from Ethiopian lots to Finca Sophia and enjoyed all of them. Their Panama lots were roasted a bit lighter, but all of them were good. We think China is the most exciting coffee scene in the world right now and are always very excited to feature new roasters form there.

Roast Profile: Lightish. Around Hydrangea's level of development, but with a stronger focus on sweetness. To me it presented similarly to the way John Small roasts, but with a lighter development similar to Hydrangea or Gout & Co.

Why did we bring this coffee on?

Faysel abdosh's coffees have been real standouts for us in the past 2 seasons and I've been trying (and loving) every lot I see. I have not had many cold shock coffees from Ethiopia, so this lot really stood out to me. They tend to have a heavier body, stronger sweeness and distinct acidity without being overly fermenty. Puman's roast works super well with coffees like this, so this is one I'm very hyped for.

Tasting Notes: Hibiscus, Pink Lemon, Sweet Peach, Sweet Tea

What is a weekly release?

It’s a one off feature with a specific roaster. Weekly releases are separate from the subscription. This way you can try coffee from us without subscribing! We also offer some high end and ultra rare lots through this that we wouldn’t be able to feature on our subscriptions.

Do I need to subscribe to purchase the weekly release?

Nope! Weekly releases can be purchased as standalone coffees, no subscription required.

When will my weekly release order ship?

Shipping timelines vary by roaster and international transit. We send weekly email updates so you always know where your coffee is in the process. Make sure to sign up for our newsletter.

What does “presale” mean?

Our weekly releases are sold before the coffee arrives in the U.S. This allows us to source rare international roasters that don’t normally export here. They are roasted to order and we provide an ETA for each release through our newsletter.
