Onibus is a well established roaster based in Japan - I don’t have a lot of experience with them, but I’ve heard very good things about them!

Roast Profile: Japanese Light. Roasted for sweetness, but not roasty with lower EY brews.

Why did we bring this coffee on?

We are pleased to introduce this new crop from the Gachika Factory in the Kiambu region of Kenya. This lot is locally sourced in January 2026. Grown at an altitude exceeding 1,800 meters in a cool climate and nutrient-rich brown soil, this lot offers vibrant fruitiness characteristic of Kenyan coffee. It features a bright, juicy acidity reminiscent of pink grapefruit, paired with a sweet-tart flavor like cassis. You can also enjoy the complex shifts in flavor as the temperature changes. We invite you to try it.

It’s a one off feature with a specific roaster. Weekly releases are separate from the subscription. This way you can try coffee from us without subscribing! We also offer some high end and ultra rare lots through this that we wouldn’t be able to feature on our subscriptions.

What does “presale” mean?

Our weekly releases are sold before the coffee arrives in the U.S. This allows us to source rare international roasters that don’t normally export here. They are roasted to order and we provide an ETA for each release through our newsletter.
