We featured Moby Dick a while ago and had mixed feelings on their coffee. A few of the coffees were rather light and super juicy, but some were more developed. We reached out asking about their offshoot branch, Yelei labs, and they recommended a few different coffees from their Moby Dick brand that were roasted lighter and were more similar to the Yelei offerings. So we are excited to bring them back on!

Roast Profile: Lightish. Their coffee from our last order ranged from fairly light to a bit more developed than what we typically source. These lots are their lightest roasts at the moment, so they will likely be closer to Hydrangea, or Sunho/Aery. They roast on a drum roaster, so it presents differently (maybe more akin to John Small, who also roasts on a drum)

Why did we bring this coffee on?

We also tried this coffee from Nai Zui and were floored by it. Easily one of our favorite Colombian geshas of recent memory. Since then, I've picked it up from every roaster I see it from.

Tasting notes: Orange blossom, finger lime, candy sweetness

What is a weekly release?

It’s a one off feature with a specific roaster. Weekly releases are separate from the subscription. This way you can try coffee from us without subscribing! We also offer some high end and ultra rare lots through this that we wouldn’t be able to feature on our subscriptions.

Do I need to subscribe to purchase the weekly release?

Nope! Weekly releases can be purchased as standalone coffees, no subscription required.

When will my weekly release order ship?

Shipping timelines vary by roaster and international transit. We send weekly email updates so you always know where your coffee is in the process. Make sure to sign up for our newsletter.

What does “presale” mean?

Our weekly releases are sold before the coffee arrives in the U.S. This allows us to source rare international roasters that don’t normally export here. They are roasted to order and we provide an ETA for each release through our newsletter.
