GWO is a new 'ultra light' micro roaster out of The Netherlands. If you're not on Discord, you probably haven't heard about them yet. We love working with small up and coming international roasters and are very happy to bring their coffee on! They roast on a very small Roest L100 and this is their biggest roasting session ever! His coffee has gotten very popular recently and sells out very quickly. I think he will be one of the more well known UL roasters soon since the roast quality is excellent.

Roast Profile: Ultralight. Roasted on a Roest L100. I have a quote from him describing the roast style (this was a response to  question about it on my thread): "I don't quite like UL as a term so I avoid it and tell people I want as much clarity as I can get without hitting hay or grassy notes. I still explore and tweak stuff with each coffee and so there is a bit of movement with regard to roast level within that UL space but its part of my journey towards settling on my own style".

Resting Guideline

This is a coffee that needs a long rest to really open up. I'd wait at least 6x weeks to try. I waited 8 weeks to drink it, and had my best cups around 10-12 weeks off roast.

Why did we bring this coffee on?

We don't often do re releases of coffees, but this one was so good that when we heard Jay had bought more of this green, we were thrilled to release it again. This was previously only sold to subscribers, so this is the first non subscriber only release of his. This is a really stellar coffee and was one of my favorite Peruvian coffees of the year (which is notable since Peru has been producing straight heat this year).

Tasting notes: orange, white peach, florals, borage

What is a weekly release?

It’s a one off feature with a specific roaster. Weekly releases are separate from the subscription. This way you can try coffee from us without subscribing! We also offer some high end and ultra rare lots through this that we wouldn’t be able to feature on our subscriptions.

Do I need to subscribe to purchase the weekly release?

Nope! Weekly releases can be purchased as standalone coffees, no subscription required.

When will my weekly release order ship?

Shipping timelines vary by roaster and international transit. We send weekly email updates so you always know where your coffee is in the process. Make sure to sign up for our newsletter.

What does “presale” mean?

Our weekly releases are sold before the coffee arrives in the U.S. This allows us to source rare international roasters that don’t normally export here. They are roasted to order and we provide an ETA for each release through our newsletter.
