Grandmum cafe is a micro roaster based in Vietnam. They typically only roast for their cafe, so it's a real treat that they worked with us for this. If you're on Discord, Halp does some QC/consulting for them. The roastery is owned by Vietnam's first Aeropress champion, Thi Le. This is a really great example of Vietnamese specialty coffee roasting, and I'm thrilled to be sharing them with you!

Roast Profile: Nordic light. They actually started as a multi roaster and carried a lot of nordic roasters, so they were pretty influenced by that. There will be some development if you push it hard, but with lower ey brews, the coffee really shines. They roast on an OPP, a drum roaster from Vietnam.

Why'd I bring this coffee on?

Natural Ethiopians can be kind of hit or miss for me. I don't think everyone would agree with that, it's just my tastes. But some of my favorites lately have been from Duwencho. The coffees I've had from there have this distinct high floral/citrus notes that translates really well into naturals. Strawberry can be a 'danger note' for me, but i like the presentation of it that I find in coffees from Duwencho.

Who's this coffee for?

People who like clean naturals

Tasting notes: orange blossom, strawberry, grapes

What is a weekly release?

It’s a one off feature with a specific roaster. Weekly releases are separate from the subscription. This way you can try coffee from us without subscribing! We also offer some high end and ultra rare lots through this that we wouldn’t be able to feature on our subscriptions.

Do I need to subscribe to purchase the weekly release?

Nope! Weekly releases can be purchased as standalone coffees, no subscription required.

When will my weekly release order ship?

Shipping timelines vary by roaster and international transit. We send weekly email updates so you always know where your coffee is in the process. Make sure to sign up for our newsletter.

What does “presale” mean?

Our weekly releases are sold before the coffee arrives in the U.S. This allows us to source rare international roasters that don’t normally export here. They are roasted to order and we provide an ETA for each release through our newsletter.
