Grandmum cafe is a micro roaster based in Vietnam. They typically only roast for their cafe, so it's a real treat that they worked with us for this. If you're on Discord, Halp does some QC/consulting for them. The roastery is owned by Vietnam's first Aeropress champion, Thi Le. This is a really great example of Vietnamese specialty coffee roasting, and I'm thrilled to be sharing them with you!

Roast Profile: Nordic light. They actually started as a multi roaster and carried a lot of nordic roasters, so they were pretty influenced by that. There will be some development if you push it hard, but with lower ey brews, the coffee really shines. They roast on an OPP, a drum roaster from Vietnam.

Why'd I bring this coffee on?

For every release I do, I try to have one kind of standard washed coffee. The green may not be super exciting, but I think it's a great way to evaluate a roasters profile. That's not to say that this coffee is bad, just a kind of standard washed Ethiopian. And there's a lot to love about that!

Who's this coffee for?

People who like 'boring washed coffee'. This is a classic washed Ethiopian :)

Tasting notes: White floral, bergamot, earl grey

What is a weekly release?

It’s a one off feature with a specific roaster. Weekly releases are separate from the subscription. This way you can try coffee from us without subscribing! We also offer some high end and ultra rare lots through this that we wouldn’t be able to feature on our subscriptions.

Do I need to subscribe to purchase the weekly release?

Nope! Weekly releases can be purchased as standalone coffees, no subscription required.

When will my weekly release order ship?

Shipping timelines vary by roaster and international transit. We send weekly email updates so you always know where your coffee is in the process. Make sure to sign up for our newsletter.

What does “presale” mean?

Our weekly releases are sold before the coffee arrives in the U.S. This allows us to source rare international roasters that don’t normally export here. They are roasted to order and we provide an ETA for each release through our newsletter.
