Exposure Therapy is one of our favorite roasters in the world. They have a very unique presentation of flavors to their coffees, and I have really enjoyed every one we've had from them. We are currently the only way to buy their coffee in the US and are thrilled to be offering it!

Roast Profile:

Ultralight. They roast on a Giesen, which is one of my favorite roasters, but is rare to find UL roasts on it. XLIII also roasts on this machine, but with a very different approach. I find these coffees to be some what similar to Shoebox's presentation, but with it's own unique spin. I also find his roasts highlight floral/herbal notes in a very distinct way.

Why Did We Bring This Coffee On?

Ethan really enjoys these kinds of coffees, which are kind of comfort coffees that you don't often see roasted this light. I find them really nostalgic, with having a lot of notes that I don't see much in coffee these days, while still being super light and not roasty. This one doesn't seem to be as chocolatey as some of the past ones he's done, more of a typical caturra with high sweetness and a delicious malic acidity that you get sometimes from Guatemalan coffees.

Tasting notes: Green Apple, candied lemon, bergamot

What is a weekly release?

It’s a one off feature with a specific roaster. Weekly releases are separate from the subscription. This way you can try coffee from us without subscribing! We also offer some high end and ultra rare lots through this that we wouldn’t be able to feature on our subscriptions.

Do I need to subscribe to purchase the weekly release?

Nope! Weekly releases can be purchased as standalone coffees, no subscription required.

When will my weekly release order ship?

Shipping timelines vary by roaster and international transit. We send weekly email updates so you always know where your coffee is in the process. Make sure to sign up for our newsletter.

What does “presale” mean?

Our weekly releases are sold before the coffee arrives in the U.S. This allows us to source rare international roasters that don’t normally export here. They are roasted to order and we provide an ETA for each release through our newsletter.
