Big Sur is one of my personal favorite roasters I've worked with. They're based out of Shanghai and are a really great ultralight roaster. I loved all the coffees I had from my previous order, and they were one of the best regarded roasters I've released.

Roast Profile: ultralight. They roast on a Loring and have a really unique profile for Loring roasts. Their coffees tend to be very fruit forward and are less delicate than some UL roasters I've brought on.

Why did we bring this coffee on?

Esmeralda won multiple awards this year at Best of Panama. This wasn't a winning lot, but their coffees this year have been top notch. We had their natural from this same plot as part of our last release and loved it. So when they told us they had a limited amount of the washed, we jumped on it! Very limited quantity!

What is a weekly release?

It’s a one off feature with a specific roaster. Weekly releases are separate from the subscription. This way you can try coffee from us without subscribing! We also offer some high end and ultra rare lots through this that we wouldn’t be able to feature on our subscriptions.

Do I need to subscribe to purchase the weekly release?

Nope! Weekly releases can be purchased as standalone coffees, no subscription required.

When will my weekly release order ship?

What does “presale” mean?

Our weekly releases are sold before the coffee arrives in the U.S. This allows us to source rare international roasters that don’t normally export here. They are roasted to order and we provide an ETA for each release through our newsletter.
