Substance is one of the most hyped roasters we've worked with. Joachim is hugely influential in the ultralight coffee scene and has inspired a wide range of coffee roasters. He doesn't really do wholesale, so we are very happy to be working with him and showcasing his coffee

Roast Profile:

This is a classic ultralight profile. Kind of right in the middle in terms of development in the UL range. Minmax was very inspired by him, so I'd say that that's a solid comparison for roast. Super clarity focused roast.

Why did we bring this coffee on?

Finca Sophia is Joaquim's favorite farm and it produces some truly impressive coffees. It's the highest elevation coffee farm in Panama and it can be hard to find coffee from them. We did a tasting of 6x different lots from Finca Sophia, and Substance's roast of lot 122 (a different honey lot that was also from their heritage collection) was one of the best. Truly stunning coffee and a practically perfect example of a honey processed coffee.
